湖南省兵器工业集团股份有限公司成立于2001年（各子公司创建于20世纪60年代中期），总部位于湖南长沙，集团现有总资产超42亿元，在册职工4500余人，下辖十余家全资及参股子公司，地点分布于长沙、湘潭、株洲、益阳、岳阳、娄底、永州。2004年，由省国防科工局划归省国资委监管；2019年，湖南兵器集团与湖南新天地集团整合组建湖南湘科控股集团有限公司，同年12月正式变更成为湘科集团下属全资一级子公司，2021年12月，集团整体变更为股份公司。

Brief of HOIG

Hunan Ordnance Industry Group Co., Ltd (HOIG) was established in 2001 (the subsidiaries were founded in the mid-1960s), with its headquarters in Changsha, Hunan Province. It has total assets of more than 4.2 billion yuan, with over 4,500 registered employees. Now it operates more than ten wholly-owned subsidiaries and shareholding subsidiaries located in Changsha, Xiangtan, Zhuzhou, Yiyang, Yueyang, Loudi, and Yongzhou. In 2004, the Science, Technology and Industry Bureau for National Defense of Hunan Province transferred the Group's supervision to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Hunan Provincial People’s Government. In 2019, Hunan Ordnance Industry Group (HOIG) and Hunan Xin Tian Di Group merged to form Hunan Xiangke Holding Group Company Limited. In December of the same year, HOIG was formally changed to a wholly-owned first-class subsidiary under Xiangke Holding Group. HOIG as a whole was changed to a joint-stock company in December of 2021.

湖南兵器主要从事火炮、弹药、引信、枪械等军品的研发、生产和销售以及电子电器产品检测检验，形成有大口径枪械系统、榴弹发射器系统、迫击炮系统、非致命防暴装备、特种弹药、激光销毁未爆弹装置六大系列，枪、弹、引信配套完整的军品研发生产格局，广泛列装陆军、海军、空军、火箭军、联勤保障部队、武警部队诸兵种及公安部门，是全国具有重要影响力的地方军工集团之一。

Business Area

HOIG is a company primarily engaged in the research, development, production and sale of artillery, ammunition, fuses, firearms and other military products as well as the testing and inspection of electronic and electrical products. It has established six series of military product categories, including large-caliber firearms systems, grenade launcher systems, mortar systems, non-lethal riot control equipment, special ammunition and laser destruction of unexploded ordnance. It also established a military R&D and production pattern that forms a complete supporting system of firearms, ammunition and fuses. These military products are widely equipped by the government public security department as well as various military services, such as the army, navy, air force, rocket force, joint logistic support force and armed police force. It is one of the local military industrial groups with nationwide significant influence in China.

Outlook

In the new era, HOIG will earnestly implement Xi Jinping’s thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the beautiful blueprint of "Three Highlands and Four New Missions", adhere to and strengthen the Party's leadership over state-owned enterprises, establish and improve the modern enterprise system. To actively respond to the needs of high-tech modern warfare, the company focus on three major development directions: lightweight weapon, intelligent munition and unmanned platform. With innovation at the forefront, new materials and technologies will be used to upgrade traditional weapons. Missiles, loitering munitions, guided projectiles, aerial bombs as well as unmanned aerial drones, vehicles and boats will be developed and produced.
